SRIM is a scientific, professional and non-governmental organisation. SRIM aims to promote active research and development of the health informatics community in academic, commercial and medical fields both at home and abroad.
Romania has been represented as a corresponding member of IMIA since 1986 and became a full member of IMIA in 1994. It currently has representatives in several IMIA and EFMI working groups. Also in 1994 SRIM became a member of EFMI.
Members with different backgrounds such as: physicians, IT experts, engineers, mathematicians and other professionals working in the field of health informatics. Continuing the work of a group of specialists who started working in this field in 1977. Coordinating the activities of its members to promote health informatics in the country and supports international cooperation in this field.
